European Debut: Festival d’Ile-de-France

The Hot Sardines played their very first show in Europe on September 9 as part of the Festival d’Ile-de-France 2012 at the Domaine de Villarceaux, where they were part of a globalFEST-curated lineup of emerging talent from New York City that included Martha Redbone, Golem and Zon del Barrio.

Close to 4500 people congregated at the Domaine de Villarceaux, a manor outside Paris in the Val d’Oise, whose oldest building dates to the 12th century.

The band featured a number of songs in French — Miz Elizabeth’s native language — and invited the New York Brass Band to join them for the show’s raucous finale.
